When the bloodstream is penetrated by alcohol, it sparks the brain in an instant which causes the neurotransmitters to shut down their communication.

Most evidently, alcohol increases the suppression of gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA) which can slow down the activities in the brain and make the brain relaxed.

As a result of this many functions that help in thinking, decision making, and coordination are not being all that good.

These disorders may arise from time discontinuity and cause depressive symptoms, anxiety, and mood worsening.

4. Sleep Disruptions:

Alcohol alters the natural sleep cycle such that REM sleep, which is the most powerful kind of sleep during the sleep cycle, is reduced, and this gives rise to inadequate sleep and impaired emotional stability.

Human bodies get disturbed by such frequent interruptions and sometimes it results in tiredness, drowsiness, or even makes depression condition worse.

5. The Vicious Cycle:

The depression effect of alcohol provokes a vicious cycle situation whenever someone is experiencing mental health issues.

The temporary pleasure resulting from alcohol and the escape way from negative feelings is through the process irrationally magnifying the mental health issues.

The dependence on alcohol to deal with the problem just makes the depression worse which eventually leads to a vicious cycle of increasing alcohol consumption creating more sunken depression.
